Defending champion Lauren Davis kicks off her campaign against qualifier and compatriot Sachia Vickery, against whom she has a 3-0 head-to-head record.
Three matches on Tuesday's schedule will see two players facing each other for the first time, as Agnieszka Radwanska faces rising Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, Yula Putintseva takes on qualifier Ysaline Bonaventure, and home hope Jade Lewis takes on Viktoria Kuzmova of Slovakia in a battle of teenagers.

Davis and Radwanska are the lone former champions in the field, with the Pole having won the title in 2013.
Wozniacki starts her week in New Zealand with a chance at returning to the World No.1 ranking. Should the Dane win the title this week, she would need Garbiñe Muguruza to fall before the final in Brisbane, and Simona Halep to be upset before the quarterfinal stage in Shenzhen.
