Nao HIBINO (JPN) v Mihaela BUZARNESCU (ROU)

Misaki DOI (JPN) v Veronika KUDERMETOVA (RUS) [2]

MATCH POINTS

Mihaela Buzarnescu is the only player in the final four not to have dropped a set this week.

She has never faced Nao Hibino before.

Hibino is aiming to reach her fifth WTA Tour final and first since July 2017 in Nanchang. All have been on hard courts.

Buzarenscu has three finals to her name, the latest of which was San Jose 2018, in which she picked up her only title to date by defeating Maria Sakkari.

Veronika Kudermetova, the No.2 seed and WTA World No.48, is the only Top 100 ranked player left in the draw.

It will be her first meeting with Misaki Doi.

Doi has never reached a WTA final about 125K level, though she won Bastad on clay earlier this year.

Similarly, the Russian, who won Guadalajara in March, has never been in a final of an International tournament or higher.

If Hibino and Doi both reach the final, it would leave the doubles partners in an unusual situation as they will team up to face Christina McHale and Valeria Savinykh in the doubles final.
