Top seed Caroline Garcia will face qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse in their first meeting. Garcia is into her second WTA quarterfinal of the season, following her run to the final of Strasbourg last month.
Kristina Mladenovic takes a 2-1 head-to-head lead into her quarterfinal meeting with Donna Vekic. Mladenovic won their first two matches in 2014, but Vekic has won their most recent encounter, a straight-set victory at this year's Australian Open.
Vekic, the 2017 Nature Valley Open champion, owns more wins at Nottingham than any other player in the draw. She improved that total to 10 after her second-round win over Chloe Paquet.
Jennifer Brady won her only prior meeting with Maria Sakkari, on the clay courts of Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Brady is seeking her first WTA quarterfinal showing of the season, while Sakkari broke through to win her first-ever WTA singles title in Rabat last month.
