MIAMI, FL, USA - Ashleigh Barty's biggest career title has been well-received by her peers, and by some of tennis' greatest legends.

The Aussie secured the Miami Open crown with a straight-sets victory over Karolina Pliskova, and was congratulated across social media in the aftermath.

The Aussie's run to the last eight in Miami was already monumental, as she had never before been that far in a Premier Mandatory event.

With a first-ever win against Petra Kvitova in that round, she guaranteed herself a Top 10 debut, and with a flawless serving performance in Saturday's final against Pliskova, she bagged herself the trophy.

Barty is guaranteed to rise to World No.9 in the new rankings on Monday, becoming the first Australian to grace the Top 10 since June 2013.

Prior to this fortnight, the best result by an Australian in Miami were quarterfinal runs from Rachel McQuillan in 1995 and Samantha Stosur in 2009 and 2010.
