Ukrainian teenager Dayana Yastremska's charge up the WTA rankings continued in 2019, and you rewarded her with the title of Breakthrough Player of the Month for January.

Yastremska had her best Grand Slam result in the first month of the year, and started the month and began the next by winning her second WTA title.

She topped first-time major semifinalist Danielle Collins, fellow teenage sensation Amanda Anisimova and Aussie Ashleigh Barty with nearly 47 percent of your votes.

The Ukrainian teenager had the best Grand Slam result of her young career in Australia, as she ousted home favorite Samantha Stosur and No.23 seed Carla Suárez Navarro en route to reaching the third round in just her second Grand Slam main draw before being stopped by 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, whom she idolized in her youth.

"For me it will be a history match to play against a legend of tennis and I appreciate a lot that I have this moment and this situation to play against her, "Yastremska told WTA Insider in Melbourne.

"I think a young generation playing against an experienced legend is amazing."

In addition to her result in Melbourne, Yastremska reached the quarterfinals of the Hobart International and also ended January and began February with a run to her second WTA title at the Toyota Thailand Open in Hua Hin.
