MATCH POINTS

This will be the first meeting between Coco Gauff and Andrea Petkovic.

15-year-old lucky loser Gauff has reached her first WTA quarterfinal and semifinal this week. The American teenager earned her first-ever Top 10 win with her quarterfinal victory over top seed and World No.8 Kiki Bertens, and is projected to crack the Top 100 of the WTA singles rankings for the first time on Monday.

Gauff and her doubles partner Caty McNally are also still alive in their quest for their second WTA doubles title of the year. They claimed the Citi Open title in Washington, D.C. in August, which was their first-ever WTA event as a duo.

Petkovic made her first WTA quarterfinal and semifinal of the season this week, and indeed has reached her first semifinal overall since reaching the same round at Linz last year, where she lost to eventual finalist Ekaterina Alexandrova. This is Petkovic's third trip to the Linz semifinals, having also reached the final four in 2010.

World No.75 Petkovic seeks her first WTA final since winning the Antwerp title in 2015. The German reached her career-high ranking of World No.9 in 2011, and she has won six WTA singles titles in her career.

Ekaterina Alexandrova has a 3-1 head-to-head lead on Jelena Ostapenko. Alexandrova has won their last three meetings, including one victory in 2019, which came via retirement in Eastbourne.

World No.35 and Russian No.1 Alexandrova reached the final last year in her Linz main draw debut, before falling to Camila Giorgi. Her 2018 Linz run is her only WTA singles final to date.

World No.72 Ostapenko is into her first WTA semifinal since reaching the last four at 2018 Wimbledon, and seeks her first final since the 2018 Miami Open.

Ostapenko has won two WTA singles titles in her career, most famously claiming her first-ever title at 2017 Roland Garros just days after her 20th birthday. The Latvian rose to a career-high ranking of World No.5 in 2018.
