Petra Martic and Mihaela Buzarnescu are level at a win apiece from their previous meetings. Martic won at Wimbledon last year while Buzarnescu prevailed in Birmingham earlier this year.

Anastasija Sevastova has won two of her three previous encounters with Polona Hercog - both coming in 2011. The Latvian won at both the Australian Open and Indian Wells, while going down to the Slovenian two years earlier, in Cuneo.

Petra Martic is aiming to reach her second WTA singles final, having last made the showpiece match in Kuala Lumpur, in 2012.

Polona Hercog has made five previous finals, winning two - in Bastad in 2011 and 2012. 

Anastasija Sevastova is seeking a second final of 2018, having previously finished runner-up in Mallorca this year. The 28-year-old has made five career finals overall, winning twice.

Both of Mihaela Buzarnescu's previous career finals came this year - the Romanian finishing runner-up in Hobart and Prague.

Mihaela Buzarnescu has yet to drop a set in her home tournament this week.
