MATCH POINTS

Elina Svitolina has never previously met Karolina Muchova.

Angelique Kerber and Julia Goerges are attempting to become the first German winners of the Qatar Ladies Open since the tournament began in 2001.

WTA World No.6 Kerber holds a 7-1 winning record against quarterfinal opponent Barbora Strycova. She is 6-0 on hard courts against the Czech.

Simona Halep is the only previous winner still in the draw.

The former WTA World No.1 has won each of her two previous main draw meetings with Goerges, though they have not played since Miami in 2016.

Kiki Bertens has already beaten Elise Mertens in 2019, winning a three-set thriller, 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-4 in Brisbane.

Mertens holds the upper hand in this rivalry with a 2-1 all-time record, but each of their last two clashes has gone the distance.
