Samantha Stosur makes her 14th appearance in the main draw at Roland Garros as she takes on Kristina Kucova. The Australian has reached the final once (2010) and semi-finals on three further occasions

Pauline Parmentier opens against Irina Khromacheva and is yet to win a main draw match on clay in 2017. She did, however, win her singles rubber on the surface in France's Fed Cup victory over Spain in April
