Comfort, performance and appealing looks -- everything is important in the world of WTA apparel.

The French Open is among the most spectacular periods of the season when tennis clothing companies are eager to showcase their most advanced designs, helping players deliver their best games. Marija Zivlak of Women's Tennis Blog presents the outfits that are ready to rock the prestigious clay courts in Paris.

Angelique Kerber

Adidas decided to encompass the colors and style of Stade Roland Garros, hence the color-blocking in the traditional green associated with the clay court Grand Slam. World number one Angelique Kerber is set to launch the adidas Roland Garros Tank, a sporty white racerback cut with multi-color elastic straps, and the adidas Roland Garros Skirt, featuring beautiful asymmetrical bi-tonal pleats.

The line is accentuated with bold emblems that bring a contemporary finish and an extra touch of style.

France’s Kristina Mladenovic will wear the adidas Roland Garros Court Dress, available in white with core green and white with night grey. The adizero ubersonic 2 women’s footwear, which comes in green/white/orange, will help players slide comfortably on the clay courts, while the company's combination of Clima technologies and mesh details equip the athletes for the unpredictable conditions in Paris.

Garbine Muguruza has a stunning adidas Summer Stella McCartney Dress 2 worthy of a defending champion. The strategically-placed blocks of color have a figure-slimming effect, continuing the British designer’s worship of a feminine silhouette, while ribbed side panels ensure stretch and comfort.

The Spaniard’s feet will be supported by adidas Stella Barricade 2017 Shoes.

For Caroline Wozniacki, Stella McCartney played with a classic red polo, updating it with a modern pique fabric, two front slits and touches of orange at zipper, armholes and collar.

The red adidas Summer Stella McCartney Pleated Skirt, featuring a cream white hem, is a perfect match for the sleeveless collared top.

The Dane's new Stella Barricade Boost Shoes offer the most responsive cushioning so far, with special capsules inserted under the heel for explosive energy return.

Representatives of Nike are expected to wear the Summer Slam Premier Tank, featuring a mock neck and racerback design with wide armholes, and the Summer Power Spin Premier Skirt, unique for its paint stain print which Nike says is “inspired by the scatter and grit of clay court during furious games”. The outfit exists in paramount blue, pictured above, and in black.

Fila’s Karolina Pliskova will wear the Spring Heritage II Sleeveless Polo which mixes stripes and color-blocking, bringing fresh style that pays homage to tennis fashion classics, while providing contemporary performance features such as the moisture-wicking fabric with UV 30 protection.

The Fila Spring Heritage II Skort has a contrast green waistband and white stripes at back. We have already seen the Czech in her Roland Garros outfit, at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia.

Jelena Jankovic’s Fila Spring Heritage II Racer Dress also goes back to the roots with its color palette. For warm-up at the French Open, the former World No.1 will sport another classic -- the Fila Spring Heritage II Jacket equipped with UV protection.

Fila-sponsored Yaroslava Shvedova, Irina-Camelia Begu and Timea Babos will be outfitted in the Tropical Slice collection, which blends spring vibes with a sporty twist using upbeat arrangement of neon oranges, turquoises and eclectic prints.

The line offers five silhouettes of tops, including this Fila Tropical Crossback Tank, two skorts, including the petaled Fila Tropical Car Wash Skirt, and a dress.

Venus Williams will sport the EleVen Diamond collection, highlighted by the Clarity Dress, featuring the brand’s recognizable wrap design and contrast back mesh inset.

After a rather long period of very simple designs, Lotto is ready to get people talking again. Agnieszka Radwanska’s Camoflower Dress is set to bring out opposing opinions among tennis fashion enthusiasts with its camouflage pattern and girly layered tulle ruffles at skirt.

Similar to Wozniacki’s look, Lacoste’s Christina McHale will sport a sleeveless polo and an all-around pleated skirt with elastic waistband. There’s nothing better than an aesthetic that balances heritage style with contemporary trends!

France’s Alizé Cornet will pair her white pleated skirt with the Lacoste Spring Top, a supreme piece whose diamond jacquard mesh at the bust and back adds texture and provides ventilation.

New Balance prepared this Spring Brunton Dress for Heather Watson and we have already seen the Brit in it during the French Open qualifying. The watercolor dress is made from lightweight semi-transparent rip stop fabric that provides freedom of movement through stretches and serves.

Other New Balance’s athletes, including Nicole Gibbs and Sorana Cirstea, are going for separates consisting of a deep ozone blue version of the Spring Richmond Tank and the pleated tulle mesh Spring Health Skirt.

The New Balance 996v3 footwear is updated with the first ever knit, nylon-infused upper, while a newly designed PROBANK technology is there to improve lateral stability.

As we can see, fans of WTA fashion have many reasons to look forward to Roland Garros 2017!
