BASTAD, Sweden - Caroline Wozniacki is the first woman to hit 40 match wins in 2017, after scoring a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win over Viktorija Golubic to advance to the quarterfinals of the Ericsson Open.

This is the earliest Wozniacki has hit 40 wins since her 2011 season when she hit the mark at the French Open and went on to finish the year No.1.

In fact, the World No.6 is currently on track for one of the winningest seasons of her illustrious career. Wozniacki now leads the tour in match-wins this season with a 40-14 record. No.5 Elina Svitolina is behind her at 39-9, No. 1 Karolina Pliskova at 37-10, No.13 Kristina Mladenovic at 37-15, and No.7 Johanna Konta at 34-10.

Wozniacki's winning ways began at the US Open last summer, where she put a screeching halt a steep slide in the rankings and turned her 2016 around quickly. The Dane went into the US Open ranked No.74 and proceeded to make the surprise run to the semifinals and she never let the momentum slide. Wozniacki is the winningest player since the US Open, compiling a 61-17 record, far outpacing Svitolina's record of 54-15 over that span.
