On this week's episode, Senior Writer Courtney Nguyen and Web Editor David Kane fire up the mics with heavy hearts after the tragic news of the attack on Petra Kvitova earlier this week.
We continue our march towards the 2017 season by diving into the myriad of coaching changes over the off-season. The biggest trend? The surprise end to three very successful partnerships, in Karolina Pliskova and Jiri Vanek, Madison Keys and Thomas Hogstedt, and Johanna Konta and Estaban Carril. But were these splits really that surprising? Courtney and David aren't so sure.
In addition to the changes that did happen, Courtney and David also discuss the coaching changes that didn't happen. From breaking familial ties, breaking out of a successful but possibly stale comfort zone, or just plain inertia, which existing partnerships might need a shake-up?
We also discuss Serena Williams's insightful discussion of race and culture in an interview for ESPN's The Undefeated and the prospects of Victoria Azarenka's return to the tour after the birth of a healthy baby boy.
