DUBAI, UAE - Starting her second full season on the WTA tour, Naomi Osaka is slowly getting comfortable with her surroundings - as much off the court as on.

The Japanese teenager unleashes unbridled aggression to help her win matches, and her reservedly quirky charm helping her win friends and teammates alike, as she outlines with WTA Insider after her 6-2, 6-4 victory over qualifier Chang Kai-Chen in the first round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

Here are some highlights from Insider's interview with the effortlessly endearing Osaka:

"A few days ago I tweeted at @tarodaniel93, cuz we played an exhibition together. We didn't talk at all. We literally just did high-fives and never talked. So I was like, do it. Be gutsy. Then he responded and I was like what do I do? I was really hoping he wouldn't see that, that it would be buried in all of his mentions or something. Oh god, I have anxiety now, there's so much stress. So I decided that if I'm going to be this weird I might as well go all the way. So I pressed "follow". That one day of not knowing if he was going to follow me back was the most stressful situation I've ever had in my life. But he followed me back."

"I kind of regret my life a little bit. I decided that I was going to tweet at somebody every month. And that was stupid."

"Eri Hozumi has a complete mom personality. And Misaki Doi is kind of crazy, which I was not expecting at all. We were at the Fed Cup dinner and she randomly started dancing towards the entrance. Who does that? Especially her, I was like whoa what is going on here?"

"The MC was like does anyone want to speak? And I thought now, this is the moment to be outgoing. And then I stood up and literally everyone was staring at me and I really wanted to sit back down. And my heart was racing. It was too late so I had to go and I made the worst speech ever."

"[Fans] don't want to know who I am. I have no personality."
