MATCH POINTS

Camila Giorgi is yet to drop more than three games in a set to Alison Van Uytvanck in two meetings to date. The Italian defeated Van Uytvanck 6-3, 6-2 in the second round of Miami in 2015 and 6-2, 6-1 in the second round of Lugano this April.

Alison Van Uytvanck is seeking to reach her third career final, and second of the year. Both of her previous finals were also indoors, and ended in the Belgian lifting the trophy - in Québec City last year and in Budapest this February. Van Uytvanck snapped a seven-match losing streak dating back to Montréal in August this week.

Camila Giorgi is bidding to reach her sixth career final, and first since Katowice 2016. Four of the 26-year-old's five finals to date have also been on indoor hard courts, including previously in Linz in 2014. The tournament began with the past three champions in the draw, plus four further past runners-up; at the semifinal stage, Giorgi is the only one remaining.

Ekaterina Alexandrova is competing in her maiden WTA semifinal today. However, the Russian's previous career-best result also came indoors - a title run at the 2016 Limoges 125K in which she defeated Alizé Cornet and Caroline Garcia in the last two rounds. Alexandrova is bidding to become the first qualifier to make the Linz final in its current incarnation as an International tournament.

Andrea Petkovic is competing in her third semifinal of 2018 following Washington and Guangzhou, all of which have come in a resurgent second half of the season. The German is now bidding for her first final in over three years, since Antwerp in February 2015, and 12th overall.
