Compatriots Sabine Lisicki and Julia Goerges have played each other three times over the past decade. Lisicki leads the head-to-head 2-1, with her wins coming in the qualifying of Budapest on clay in 2007 and in the second round of Miami in 2015; Goerges scored her victory in the Stüttgart quarterfinals in 2011 en route to her biggest and most recent title.

Anastasija Sevastova has played 10 grass tournaments in her career. In eight of those, she has exited in the first round. The exceptions? Mallorca last year, where she was runner-up - and Mallorca this year, where she plays her quarterfinal today.

Kristyna Pliskova made her WTA Tour quarterfinal debut in Tashkent last year, eventually taking the title. Mallorca marks her fifth quarterfinal since then - on outdoor hard courts in Shenzhen, on indoor hard courts in Biel, on clay in Prague and Strasbourg, and now on grass.

Chan Yung-Jan and Martina Hingis, who play their doubles semifinal today, have reached the quarterfinals or better in all eight events they have played together.

Before this week, Julia Goerges had not won a match on grass at any level since the 2012 Olympic Games. Today, she is bidding to win three consecutive grass-court matches for the first time in her career.
