"Our Christmas traditions are Christmas Eve wafer and Noble Box!" Agnieszka said. "This is our eighth year helping Noble Box. Our main goal is to help the needy."
The Noble Box Project - brings aid to needy Polish families who have found themselves in a difficult financial situation. Volunteers go door to door throughout the year compiling a database of families in need, asking them what would help ease the pressures of the holidays. Then, for a three-week period in November and December, donors are given a list to take with them to the supermarket, where they fill a shopping cart with food, clothing and more to donate to them.
The sixteenth edition of Noble Box brings together Poland's biggest athletes including, of course, the Radwanska sisters.
This year, the sisters decided to help an older couple, Ursula and Eugene from Kujawsko-Pomorskie. With Ursula battling cancer and her husband Eugene recently suffering a heart attack, the couple has found themselves struggling to make ends meet as both worked before their health problems.
"We chose to help [Ursula and Eugene] because they are in a difficult situation, not only because of financial problems, but also health," Agnieszka said. "We hope that what we prepared for them will help, and that it will relieve their daily struggle."
The gifts prepared by Agnieszka and Ula included cleaning supplies, food, as well as special gifts that the sisters wanted to give to the family: perfume and sweets.
"I remember when I was receiving gifts, and I know that these special memories will last a long time," Agnieszka added.
"We encourage everyone to get involved with Noble Box, especially to help together with loved ones and friends. Ula and I always try to buy presents together, because two heads are better than one!"
