RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - 22-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams leads a stacked field at the Summer Olympic Games, opening against Australia's own Daria Gavrilova.

No.2 seed Angelique Kerber will open against Mariana Duque-Mariño, while No.3 seed Garbiñe Muguruza will begin her Olympic campaign against former World No.1 Jelena Jankovic, and No.4 seed Agnieszka Radwanska, Zheng Saisai. Jankovic's countrywoman Ana Ivanovic faces No.10 seed Carla Suárez Navarro to start the week, as well.

An intriguing battle of unseeded opponents features former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard and former Australian Open semifinalist, Sloane Stephens. The winner could play Kerber in the second round.
