PARIS, France - 2010 French Open champion Francesca Schiavone is one step closer to a main draw berth in Paris, defeating Jamie Loeb 6-1, 6-4 in the second round of Roland Garros qualifying.

“I definitely think all the practice I’ve done in the last few weeks has paid off,” she told RolandGarros.com.

“Not getting into Rome meant I had a great week with my coach. I know that 90 percent of my matches go to three sets. Today I trusted in my fitness and implemented everything we’d been working on.”

Dolehide will take in Irina Bara in the next round after the Romanian defeated No.4 seed Anna Blinkova 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
