The Australian Open champion wore an emerald green dress at the Met Gala in New York. See how it compares to some of her previous outfits for this event.

Serena Williams's first public outing since announcing her pregnancy came at the star-studded Met Gala in New York on Monday night. The WTA World No.1 wore an emerald green Versace dress and, with fiancé Alexis Ohanian on her arm, seemed in her element at the star-studded affair, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

It's not the first time Serena, long known to be a keen fashion connoisseur, has attended the event: her appearances at the Met Gala date back over a decade. In 2011, she wore a feathered white Oscar de la Renta concoction, and way back in 2004 she paired a shimmering purple floor-length gown with wavy blonde hair.

Serena could still mark a fashion first this year, though - accessorizing with a baby bump is a brand new look for her.
