NEW YORK, NY, USA - Sloane Stephens has been overcoming almost every opponent in front of her during her resurgent "Summer of Sloane", which has seen her make three consecutive semifinals culminating in a spot in the US Open final four.

But a tiny bug managed to pull off what on-court rivals from Dominika Cibulkova to Anastasija Sevastova could not - as it brought the American to her knees during her post-quarterfinal press conference.

Stephens had held her nerve and composure over a brilliant two hours and 28 minutes against Sevastova just hours earlier - but that wasn't the case as she fell off her chair on seeing the insect, crying, "What is that thing? Oh my God, it looked like a dragon!"

Stephens' tennis is supreme right now - but maybe opponents just need to take a few tips from any entomologists lurking around Flushing Meadows, or simply let a jar of dragonflies loose on Arthur Ashe Stadium before her next match.
