PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Barbora Strycova sealed her place in the quarterfinals of the J&T Banka Prague Open - but she was pushed to the limit before she finished off a 6-3, 7-5 win in an all-Czech affair against Lucie Hradecka.
Strycova excelled in attack and defense, and Hradecka could not keep up with her for long in the first set.
The World No.18 looked as though she was about to pull away from her compatriot at the start of the second.
Yet Hradecka hit back, saving one match point before Strycova powered through on the second.
Meanwhile, defending champion Lucie Safarova withdrew from the tournament prior to her round-of-16 match against Kristyna Pliskova.
