Anett KONTAVEIT (EST) v Petra KVITOVA (CZE)
Kontaveit is aiming for the biggest title of her career. This is her second Premier-level final.
If the Estonian wins the title, she will move up to WTA World No.14, equalling her career high.
Kvitova, meanwhile, is aiming to become the first two-time WTA winner of the 2019 season.
She would also be the second Czech champion in a row in Stuttgart; Karolina Pliskova won the title here last year.
The Czech leads their head-to-head 3-2. Kontaveit won their most recent encounter, though, in straight sets in Brisbane earlier this year, taking the Round of 16 encounter 7-5, 7-6(1). Their two previous matches on clay happened last year, and both lasted over two hours. Kvitova won the first, in Madrid, 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-3; Kontaveit won the second, 7-6(6), 7-6(4).
