June 2017 WTA Breakthrough Performance of the Month Finalists:
Anett Kontaveit: The Estonian youngster continued her breakout 2017 season on the grass courts, winning her maiden WTA title at the Ricoh Open in 's-Hertogenbosch. Kontaveit brought that form to the All England Club, where she got within two points of the second week - and upsetting former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki.
Anastasija Sevastova: The Latvian No.2 proved herself a woman for all surfaces at the Mallorca Open, where she won her first title since her temporary retirement at the Mallorca Open. Enjoying impressive results at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and the Mutua Madrid Open, Sevastova made the final in Mallorca for a second straight year, gritting past Julia Goerges in three sets.
Magdalena Rybarikova: Wrist and knee surgeries nearly sent her ranking outside the Top 500 in April, but everything turned around for Rybarikova once the tour turned to grass. Winning a pair of ITF Challenger titles in Ilkley and Surbiton, she reached the semifinals of the Aegon Open in Nottingham before stunning future WTA World No.1 Karolina Pliskova in the second round of Wimbledon, eventually reaching the semifinals.
