The 2019 clay season has already begun, with the first three champions crowned on three different continents. Madison Keys took the biggest early title at the Volvo Car Open in Charleston, Amanda Anisimova took home her first career title in Bogota, and Polona Hercog put forth a resurgent week to win Lugano.

Now the tour heads to Europe for the meat of the red clay season, highlighted by three Premier-level events at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix (Premier), Mutua Madrid Open (Premier Mandatory), and Internazionali BNL d'Italia (Premier 5), before culminating at the French Open at Roland Garros.

Here's where the Top 20 are scheduled to play before Paris:

      Notable Entry List Highlights:

      • Serena Williams is planning just one tournament ahead of Paris: Rome. The American great struggled with injury during the spring hardcourt season and has had to retire or withdraw from 2 of the 3 tournaments she's played in 2019.
      • Sloane Stephens, Elina Svitolina, Ashleigh Barty, Aryna Sabalenka, Caroline Wozniacki, and Madison Keys will not begin their European clay seasons until Madrid.
      • China's Wang Qiang currently has the most ambitious clay schedule. The No.17 is entered in five consecutive tournaments before Paris.

Updated: This post has been updated to reflect the Sloane Stephens and Elina Svitolina's withdrawals from Stuttgart.
