World No.1 and 2016 Wimbledon finalist Angelique Kerber leads the 2017 WTA Insider Grass Court Power Rankings, but it's a slew of Czechs that anchor the Power Rankings as we head into The Championships. Four Czechs, led by two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and Eastbourne champion Karolina Pliskova, feature in the Top 10 of the Power Rankings, highlighting the power and variety that has become the trademark of the Czech Republic's seemingly undending pipeline of talent.

The WTA Insider Grass Court Power Rankings is based on an empirical formula that isolates a player's success rate on grass. To measure a player's recent aptitude on the surface, the Insider team applied the following formula:

100% of points earned on grass in 2017
100% of points earned on grass in 2016
75% of points earned on grass in 2015
50% of points earned on grass in 2014

The resulting sum accounts for a player's "Grass Index."

(Note: The Insider Grass Court Power Rankings have been applied to players who are scheduled to play Wimbledon.)
