Dominika Cibulkova has revealed that as a child she was told she would not make it to the top of professional tennis - because of her size.
In an exclusive video interview for wtatennis.com, the Slovakian says that when she was just starting in the game, she was told: "You're too small, you'll never play professional tennis."
She didn't let that put her off, though, and she adds: "If I really wanted something in my life, I did it."
The 29-year-old also talks about her home town of Bratislava - and the best year of her life, 2016, in which she married Michal Navara, and also won the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.
"My whole life, the hard work that I put in, I got back," she says of 2016.
