Began playing tennis at age 7 with her mother at Westside Tennis Club in Houston, Texas, USA...Coached by Dieter Schwendinger...Favorite surface is red clay; best shot is her forehand...Father, Danny, owns a landscape company; mother, Chris, is a physical therapist; older sister, Laurie, is on a full tennis scholarship at Colorado State University...Named the 1996 Student of the Year at Aston Academy...Enjoys reading, inline skating and participating in her church youth group...Most memorable experience was joining the First Baptist Church of Boca Raton and moving to the Evert Tennis Academy there...Self-described as a perfectionist, ambitious and a hard worker...Admires her parents for working hard, and her coach for being strong; admires tennis player Michael Chang because he works hard, is family-oriented and thanks God after a match...Least favorite part about being a pro tennis player is it leaves her too little time to devote to school and church.
