Born in Miami but spent childhood in Haiti until age 8; parents, Jean-Maurice and Nadine, are Haitian (father is a doctor in Port-au-Prince) ... Began playing tennis at age 7 ... Interests include arts and crafts, reading and dance.

2015 - Returned to tour in August; fell in WTA qualifying once (US Open); also played on ITF Circuit.
2014 - Reached 3r once (Wimbledon) and 2r twice; fell 1r three times and in qualifying four times (incl. Australian Open and Roland Garros); made Top 100 debut on July 7 (after Wimbledon; rose from No.114 to No.92); but also during Wimbledon, on July 4, announced she had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and would be off the tour indefinitely (missed rest of season but announced on September 20 she was officially cancer free).
2013 - Reached 2r three times (incl. US Open); fell in qualifying twice; won one singles title and one doubles title on ITF Circuit.
2012 - Played first WTA main draw at US Open, falling 1r (as WC).
2011 - Continued to play on ITF Circuit.
2010 - Played first WTA qualifying at Memphis.
