OEIRAS, Portugal - Chan Hao-Ching and Kristina Mladenovic stayed perfect as a duo with a triumph at the Portugal Open.

In their only previous outing, Chan and Mladenovic captured the WTA 125K Series event in Taipei in November. Then this week in Oeiras, after being extended to a match tie-break in their opener they did not lose a set the rest of the way for their first WTA title together.

However, the second-seeded Taiwanese-French pairing were pushed in their defeat of fourth-seeded Darija Jurak and Katalin Marosi in Saturday's final. They were down an early break at 2-0 in the first set, lost three straight games and eventually won it in a tie-break. They again found themselves down a break at 2-0 in the second set before reeling off six straight games for a 76(3) 62 victory.

This was Chan's second WTA doubles title, the first having come in Shenzhen earlier this year alongside sister Chan Yung-Jan.

Mladenovic now has five WTA doubles titles, having won Montréal with Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and Québec City with Tatjana Maria last year and then three more titles so far this year. In fact, Mladenovic is now tied for the WTA lead with three titles this year, and she is the only player to have won them with three different partners:

Timea Babos: Bogotá with Minella, Monterrey with Date-Krumm, Marrakech with Minella
Sara Errani: Australian Open with Vinci, Paris [Indoors] with Vinci, Doha with Vinci
Kristina Mladenovic: Memphis with Voskoboeva, Charleston with Safarova, Oeiras with Chan
Roberta Vinci: Australian Open with Errani, Paris [Indoors] with Errani, Doha with Errani

Their title in Oeiras sent both Chan and Mladenovic to new career-highs on the doubles rankings, Chan climbing seven spots to No.39 and Mladenovic three spots to No.21.
