LONDON, Great Britain - No.2 seed Caroline Wozniacki wasted no time against Varvara Lepchenko, dropping just three games to kick off her Wimbledon campaign in style, 6-0, 6-3.

Wozniacki is surely riding high after completing a great week at Eastbourne, where she lifted her second career grass court title at the Nature Valley International. She battled past Aryna Sabalenka in a tight final - the Belarusian served for both sets - to lift the trophy.

“Right now I think Eastbourne [is the biggest confidence booster],” Wozniacki said. “I just won that a couple of days ago. I feel like I'm hitting the ball well, I'm doing great.

“Obviously Australian Open is a great booster, as well, knowing that I can do it and I've gone all the way in a Grand Slam. It feels great.”

She’s taken the added confidence into Wimbledon, which remains the only Grand Slam where the Dane has yet to reach the quarterfinals. Today’s victory marks her 51st main draw win on grass - she’s one of only seven active players to reach the 50-match milestone, along with Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska, Angelique Kerber and Jelena Jankovic.

Fifteen unforced errors from Lepchenko along with four double faults made things simple for Wozniacki in the first set. The Dane didn’t face a break point during the set as she reeled off the first six games in a row to close out the first set to love.

Lepchenko put up more of a battle in the second, starting the set with her first break of the match, but Wozniacki quickly broke back to keep them level at 1-1. Wozniacki took the lead a few games later at 4-2, and calmly served out the match for a spot in the second round.

Up next, Wozniacki will take on a dangerous floater in the unseeded Ekaterina Makarova, who edged past Petra Martic in three sets earlier in the day.
