In front of over 200 guests, including former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki and fiancé David Lee, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian tied the knot at the Contemporary Arts Center in the Big Easy on Thursday.
Reported exclusively by Vogue magazine's Alexandra Macon, the 23-time Grand Slam champion wed Reddit's co-founder in a Beauty and the Beast-themed bash which also paid homage to tennis.
Guests were seated at four long tables named after Williams' Grand Slam wins, while replica major trophies replaced typical seating place cards.
Diverse cuisine, from classic Southern Louisiana fare, to Armenian - a nod to the groom - and Italian was on offer, and the couple had their first dance to the Disney tune "Tale as Old as Time."
The celebrity guest list included sister Venus, among the bride and groom's family, as well as Beyoncé and her mother, Tina Knowles; Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland; Kim Kardashian West; Anna Wintour; Ciara; and La La Anthony, wife of NBA superstar Carmelo.
The most important guest, though, might've been the couple's two-month-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr., who walked down the aisle in the arms of Williams' mother, Oracene Price.
Ohanian's mother had a special place in the ceremony as well - though she passed away nine years ago, the couple chose her birthday (November 16) as their special day.
“It is her birthday, and we wanted her to be represented at the wedding,” Williams told Macon. “Obviously, we wish that she could be here for this, but choosing her birthday as our wedding date was a nice way of making sure she’s still involved and made us feel more connected to her on our day.”
The bride wore a princess ballgown with a cape, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, and carried white roses for the ceremony.
She later changed into a Versace number for the reception, while Ohanian wore an Armani suit.
