Every week on wtatennis.com we'll bring you 10 of the most important things to know - who's playing, where, ranking movers... this week the Road To Singapore goes through Kuala Lumpur.

The WTA heads to Kuala Lumpur for the BMW Malaysian Open this week. World No.10 Dominika Cibulkova headlines the International-level draw, with Zhang Shuai, Karolina Pliskova, Patricia Mayr-Achleitner, Kimiko Date-Krumm, Zarina Diyas, Donna Vekic and Ayumi Morita rounding out the seeds.

Cibulkova is playing her first tournament since breaking the Top 10. Two of the last three players to make their Top 10 debut lost their first matches as a Top 10 player though - Simona Halep (who fell first round at Paris this year) and Sara Errani (who fell first round at 's-Hertogenbosch in 2012).

Cibulkova could become the WTA's match win leader this week. She's one of five players with 20 or more WTA-level match wins this year - Li Na and Agnieszka Radwanska have 21 each, and Cibulkova, Jelena Jankovic and Klara Koukalova have 20. Cibulkova is the only one playing in KL.

Timea Babos and Chan Hao-Ching are the No.1 seeds in the doubles draw. Recent Monterrey winners Darija Jurak and Megan Moulton-Levy are the No.2 seeds (read more about them here).

This is the milestone fifth year of the BMW Malaysian Open. It made its debut on the WTA calendar in 2010 and has been won by Alisa Kleybanova, Jelena Dokic, Hsieh Su-Wei and Karolina Pliskova.

Day 1 of this year's tournament was almost completely rained out. Only one singles match was completed on the first day of main draw play, with Montenegro's No.1 player, Danka Kovinic, winning that one (read more here). Kovinic was actually the first player to represent Montenegro ever to reach a WTA quarterfinal, doing so at Budapest last year (she ended up falling to Chanelle Scheepers).

All week we'll be profiling the WTA's biggest rising stars of 2014. First up is Eugenie Bouchard, who burst into the Top 20 after Australia and is hungry for much, much more (read more here).

We'll also be sharing game day eating habits from the WTA stars all week. Courtesy of USANA, find out what players eat on a day where there's tennis to be played (watch the first video here).
