ISTANBUL, Turkey - Two former champions are unseeded and looming in the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup main draw, released in full on Sunday.

Defending champion Pauline Parmentier, fresh off helping France secure a spot in the Fed Cup final in November in a dramatic weekend in Rouen, is unseeded in the draw along with 2016 champion and home favorite Cagla Buyukakcay of Turkey.

Both have drawn fellow unseeded players in the draw, with Buyukakcay, a wildcard, set to face another wildcard in the returning Svetlana Kuznetsova, who will be contesting her second tournament of the season following a seven-month injury layoff.

The two-time Grand Slam champion reached the quarterfinals at the Samsung Open presented by cornèr last week, and the winner of her first-round clash with Buyukakcay will face either No.5 seed Ajla Tomljanovic or Marketa Vondrousova.

Parmentier is drawn to face Russia's Evgeniya Rodina in the first round, and the winner will face either No.7 seed Katerina Siniakova or Viktoria Kuzmova.

The top seed in the draw is Spain's Carla Suárez Navarro, who will face compatriot Lara Arruabarrena in her first match after sealing Spain's place in the World Group during the recently-completed Fed Cup weekend, while No.2 seed Mihaela Buzarnescu will take on a qualifier.

The top seeds are rounded out by No.3 seed Camila Giorgi, who faces Barbora Strycova in the first round, and No.4 seed Dayana Yastremska, who will face French heroine Kristina Mladenovic.
