INDIAN WELLS, CA, USA - Two-time champion Victoria Azarenka and former World No.4 Eugenie Bouchard headlined the list of wildcard entries into next week's BNP Paribas Open, the tournament announced on Saturday.
They will be joined by several rising Americans in the women's draw of the first Premier Mandatory event of the season.
Nineteen-year-old Caroline Dolehide, 2017 junior Wimbledon champion Claire Liu and Kayla Day, who made a splash at Indian Wells last year before falling to Garbiñe Muguruza in three sets in the third round, also received wildcards.
The top two finishers in the Oracle Challenger Series, Danielle Collins and Amanda Anisimova had their wildcards confirmed this week at the WTA 125K event in Indian Wells.
Collins earned the top spot in the series standings as the Newport Beach champion in the Oracle Challenger Series and a quarterfinalist this week. Anisimova is still alive in the Indian Wells Challenger draw, having qualified and reached the semifinals.
Additionally, Russian Sofya Zhuk, a former junior Wimbledon champion and runner-up to Collins at Newport Beach, also received a wildcard.
Americans Louisa Chirico, Allie Kiick, Wimbledon junior runner-up Ann Li and BNP Paribas Open pre-qualifying champion Ashley Kratzer received wild cards into qualifying, alongside 2015 US Open runner-up Roberta Vinci and former Wimbledon runner-up Sabine Lisicki.
The 2018 BNP Paribas Open will be held on March 5-18 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
