Kvitova is the defending champion here, having beaten Ashleigh Barty in last year's final, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
The Czech has already won four titles this year - at St. Petersburg, Doha, Prague, and Madrid.
Strycova has finished as runner-up here on two occasions, in 2014 (losing to Ana Ivanovic) and 2016 (losing to Madison Keys); and Vekic was runner-up here in 2013, losing to Daniela Hantuchova.
At the age of 32, Strycova is this year's oldest player in the main draw.
Top seed Muguruza has never faced Pavlyunchenkova on grass before. Three of their four previous meetings have been on clay, all of which Muguruza won.
Watson has won her only match on grass against Tsurenko - in 2017 at Eastbourne, when the Brit triumphed 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
Similarly, Konta has won her only match on grass against Kvitova - in 2016 at Eastbourne, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. The Czech has won both their other encounters, though, both on hard courts and both in straight sets.
