World No.1 Angelique Kerber will return to the Apia International Sydney in January, leading a high-quality Premier field that includes 14 of the Top 20 women.

Defending champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, who foreshadowed her stand-out season en route to the title in January, also returns. Also in the 32-player field: BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global champion Dominika Cibulkova, 2013 champion Agnieszka Radwanska, US Open finalist Karolina Pliskova, Johanna Konta, and Petra Kvitova. The entry cut-off of the jam-packed field landed at No.29 Irina-Camelia Begu.

In addition, the tournament has offered one of its four wildcards to Eugenie Bouchard.

The biggest event held the week before the Australian Open, the Apia International Sydney begins on January 8th. The top two seeds will receive byes into the second round.
