Elsewhere, former WTA World No.1 Karolina Pliskova swaps places with Elina Svitolina in third as Simona Halep's place at the top is confirmed - the fifth different woman to be top of the rankings in 2017.

Jelena Ostapenko and Svetlana Kuznetsova also make rises inside the Top 10 as Johanna Konta slips to 10th place.

Here are some of the other most notable ranking movers this week

Daria Kasatkina (+5 No.34 to No.29): The 20-year-old moves into the top 30 after accounting for Agnieszka Radwanska during her impressive run to the quarterfinals at the China Open.

Sorana Cirstea (+7, No.44 to No.37): A good week for Romania with Cirstea joining Halep as a significant climber following her upset of Karolina Pliskova en route to the quarterfinals in Beijing.

Christina McHale (+6, No.71 to No.65): The gutsy American had to win through two qualifying matches in Beijing before causing an upset against US Open champion Sloane Stephens. Cirstea proved a hurdle too far in the second round.

Maria Sharapova (+18, No.104 to No.86): The comeback continues for the former No.1 who moves inside the top 100 after battling through two tough three-set matches at the China Open before falling to Halep.
