SINGAPORE - Maria Sharapova, the No.3-ranked player in the world, has officially qualified for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, the WTA's crown jewel event that boasts a $7-million purse and will take place at the Singapore Sports Hub from October 25 to November 1.

This will be Sharapova's eighth time playing the WTA Finals, winning it in her debut in 2004 and reaching another two finals in 2007 (falling to Justine Henin) and 2012 (falling to Serena Williams).
