2012 - First non-Top 100 finish since 2008 after double injury-marred season (finished No.143); played two events in Australia to start, reaching QF at Brisbane and 2r at Sydney, then missed three months with low back injury (withdrew from Australian Open, Paris [Indoors], Doha, Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami); reached 2r in comeback event in Stuttgart but injured right ankle and missed another four months (retired in Stuttgart 2r then withdrew from Madrid, Rome, Brussels, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, Olympics, Montréal and Cincinnati); returned for six events to finish season, falling early in first five (reached 2r twice and fell 1r three times - incl. US Open) but had best result of year in sixth one, reaching SF at Luxembourg (l. to V.Williams).
