Parents came to the U.S. in 1956 and helped operate a lounge in Chicago for 18 years; family has moved to Saddlebrook Resort in Florida; father, Roland is an ex-boxer born in Switzerland and mother, Ilse, is German-born; older sister, Susie, attended Stanford University...Enjoys animals...Studied Zoology at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida, for the 1984-85 school year...Founder of the Little Star Foundation (www.littlestar.org) in Colorado, a non-profit organization which provides opportunities for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases...Injured shoulder in 1984; has since required surgery seven times, most recently in December 1994.
