One of several new stops added to the WTA calendar in 2013, Nürnberg is held at the Tennis-Club 1.FC Nürnberg and is the only German city besides Stuttgart to currently host a WTA event. Other WTA tournaments over the years have been staged in cities such as Berlin, Essen, Hamburg, Hannover, Leipzig and Munich.
