The Zhonghong Jiangxi International Women's Open in Nanchang will join Suzhou and Ningbo as one of China's three WTA 125K Series events in 2014.

The first international sporting event held in Jiangxi Province, the tournament will be hosted by the State General Administration of Sports and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province, organized by the Tennis Sports Management Centre of the State General Administration of Sports and the Sports Bureau of Jiangxi Province, and co-organized by the Jiangxi Tennis Sports Management Centre and the Nanchang International Sports Centre.

A regional junior tournament will be held simultaneously at the Nanchang International Sports Centre that week, with juniors from 11 cities across Jianxi Province invited.

Famous for its scenery, rich history and cultural sites, Nanchang is the capital of Jiangxi Province in southeastern China.

With total prize money of $125,000 and 160 ranking points awarded to the champion, WTA 125K Series events are a level above top-tier ITF Women's Circuit tournaments.
