Qualifier Carle upsets Kudermetova in Madrid, posts first Top 20 win
Qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle notched the first Top 20 win of her career with an upset of No.17 seed Veronika Kudermetova in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open -- the first time the Argentinian had won consecutive tour-level matches. Carle extended her winning streak at all levels to 11 matches.
