My Favorite Places: Britain with Heather Watson

If a friend was visiting Britain, which three places would you recommend for them to visit?
I would firstly recommend Guernsey as that is where I was born and raised. Maybe I am biased but I think it is one of the most beautiful places in Britain. It’s so peaceful and green. Secondly I would always recommend London as it’s one of the best cities in the world, and has limitless places to go and see, and is such a fun city. Thirdly I would recommend going to the Lake District, I’ve actually never been there but would like to go one day.
Off the tourist trail, what are Britain’s hidden gems?
I would say a place like the Cotswolds would be a hidden gem, as it has so much character and is so beautiful.
Away from the tennis court, can you share a memorable experience you've had in Britain?
I spend a lot of time in Britain and have many memorable experiences. One of my most recent was celebrating my birthday with my best friends at a restaurant called Circus which was absolutely amazing! Every twenty minutes or so an acrobat or performer comes out to do a performance in the middle of the restaurant.
CAMBRIDGE GLOBAL PAYMENTS TRAVEL TIP
The UK currency is the pound sterling (£/GBP). There is no change to the UK currency following the referendum vote to leave the EU. There are numerous bureaux de change in London – often located inside banks, travel agents or Post Offices, as well as at London's airports and major train stations. It's worth shopping around to get the best deal – compare the exchange rates and don't forget to ask about commission so you know how many pounds you will receive in total after all charges have been deducted.
