MATCH POINTS

Both of Garbiñe Muguruza's previous encounters with Sorana Cirstea came in Grand Slams last year - the Spaniard wining at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Qualifier Catherine Bellis faces former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova for the second time in 2018 - having lost to the Czech in Brisbane last month.

Monica Niculescu has lost all eight previous matches against Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki - winning just one set against the Dane, in Madrid last year.

Angelique Kerber leads Johanna Konta 2-1 in previous meetings - the German winning twice on hardcourts in 2016, at both the Australian Open and the Rio Olympic Games.

Petra Kvitova faces Elina Svitolina on a nine-match winning streak. Victory on Thursday would stretch that to 10 - equalling her third best career run. She previously won 10 on the spin in 2014, only bettering that with 11 (2011) and 14 (2011-12) match winning streaks.
