Competing in her eighth tour-level main draw, Linda Fruhvirtova became the first 2005-born player to win a Hologic WTA Tour title at the Chennai Open, breaking the Top 100 as a result. The 17-year-old Czech came from a set down three times, and trailed by a break in the decider in both the semifinal and final.
