Wang Xiyu defeated wild card Elena-Gabriela Ruse, the last home player remaining, in 3 hours and 26 minutes at the Transylvania Open by Verdino to reach the quarterfinals. The result put Wang into her fourth tour-level quarterfinal of 2022.
