JANUARY - Reached 2r at Auckland (l. to Lisicki); won first WTA title at Hobart (d. Wickmayer in final); made Top 50 debut afterwards on January 16 (rose from No.64 to No.44); reached 3r at Australian Open (l. to Azarenka).

FEBRUARY - Reached QF at Paris [Indoors] (l. to Wickmayer); reached 2r at Doha (l. to Azarenka); fell in Dubai qualifying.

MARCH - Reached 2r at Indian Wells (l. to Azarenka); reached 3r at Miami (l. to Makarova).

APRIL - Reached QF at Copenhagen (l. to Kerber 62 06 75; led 5-2 third set w/2mp at 5-4); reached QF at Stuttgart (l. to Azarenka); withdrew from Estoril w/left foot injury.

MAY - Reached 2r at Madrid (l. to Wozniacki); fell 1r at Strasbourg (l. to Panova).

2007 - Played first events of career on ITF Circuit.

2008 - Played first WTA qualifying at Stuttgart.

2009 - Fell in WTA qualifying once.

2010 - Played first WTA main draw at Luxembourg, falling 1r (as qualifier); fell in qualifying five times (incl. Wimbledon, US Open); won two singles titles and one doubles title on ITF Circuit.

2011 - First Top 100 season; SF at Copenhagen (l. to Wozniacki); reached 2r twice (Roland Garros, US Open); fell 1r three times (incl. Wimbledon) and in qualifying twice; won three singles titles on ITF Circuit; made Top 100 debut on August 15 (rose from No.101 to No.100).

Winner: 2010 - ITF/Torhout-BEL (w/Ozga).

Coached by Mike Schürbesmann when at home; does not travel with a coach (only mother) ... Started playing at age 3 because sister played ... Strengths are mental game, serve and movement; favorite surface is hard but likes all courts ... Father, Wolfgang, is a doctor (was European junior shotputting champion); mother, Hannelore, is a retired teacher; older sister, Sunna, also played tennis (played professionally but injured her shoulder and stopped) ... Tennis idol was Steffi Graf (had same clothes and racquet when she was young) ... Best tennis memory came in early 2012, winning first WTA title at Hobart and reaching 3r at Australian Open ... Favorite tournament is Australian Open ... Goal is to keep trying to improve and have fun on the court.
