Simona Halep rose to World No.1 in October - and the 25-year-old topped another set of rankings this week: the list of the most successful Romanian women.

Released by Capital, Halep tops the list with 460 points, ahead of second-place Corina Cretu, the EU Commissioner for Regional Policy (415 points), and third-place Anca Vlad (405 points) - per Business Review.

Halep also entered the list of the Top 300 richest Romanians overall for the first time, after reportedly earning more than 20 million Euros in 2017.

That list is topped by businessman Ion Tiriac for the fourth year in a row.

Halep became the first woman from her country to rise to the WTA's top ranking after reaching the final of the China Open in Beijing. She clinched the year-end No.1 ranking after the semfinals of the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.

Halep has also this week been confirmed as headlining the field at the 'Tennis With The Stars' charity event in California ahead of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on March 6, 2018.
