Czech Pliskova out of Fed Cup final
Karolina Pliskova will not be part of the Czech Fed Cup team that faces the USA in the competition final in Prague next weekend.
The former World No.1 reported on social media that she had suffered an injury to her leg that had been affecting her movement even at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.
"I was looking forward to the final very much, but after the examination my start is not possible," she wrote, before adding: "Our team is strong enough!"
Already in Singapore there were days when I felt pain even when walking and I felt terrible. But I didn't attach much weight to it.I was looking forward to the final very much, but after the examination my start is not possible.I'm really sorry about that. Our team is strong enough!

Pliskova had originally been named in the squad alongside Petra Kvitova, Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Strycova - the same line-up that beat Germany in April's semifinal.
The Czech team has won the Fed Cup ten times - five of those wins coming in the last seven years under the captaincy of Petr Pala.
